Avendra was recently selected by Supply & Demand Chain Executive (SDCE) magazine for their 2015 Top 100 List of Great Supply Chain Projects.
SDCE’s goal with the Top 100 list is to put a spotlight on successful and innovative projects that deliver bottom-line results to enterprises across the various functions of the supply chain. SDCE’s criteria for selecting this year’s list included: ambitiousness of the project, creative application of solutions used, and extent of the business impact.
Avendra’s case study provides an overview of the work Avendra has done with Blackstone Hospitality Group to streamline their supply chain for increased ROI. Avendra currently is working in all of Blackstone’s properties, helping to cut costs and manage supply chain operations in its administrative, engineering, food & beverage and rooms programs. Based on its deep understanding of management business objectives, Avendra prepared a tailored plan for Blackstone that helped analyze purchasing patterns, recommend best alternative products to help maximize savings, better streamline procurement practices and align with strategic initiatives.
Braxton Myers, Blackstone’s VP of Operations, also has found that Avendra’s purchasing power is much more than what he can negotiate on his own. “One of our properties incurred 17 percent savings in food costs with Avendra in 2014, on a spend of about $380,000,” he explains. “If you spread that over five properties, it’s a $140,000 to $150,000 savings in just one year from just one vendor.”
