How does your role at Avendra International support client success?
Early in my Avendra International career, I was focused on growing brand awareness and fulfilling the needs of future clients. My role has evolved to primarily support existing clients and suppliers by working on cross-functional teams throughout the company and globally.
These experiences have given me a holistic view of the Avendra International client experience. I’ve collaborated with associates, suppliers, and clients to demonstrate the value Avendra International delivers to them. From developing new initiatives like an educational webinar series, or urgent crisis communications, to client event sponsorship fundraising – I’ve supported the Avendra International customer journey in different ways. It’s hard to believe that this October marks my 10th anniversary with the company.
As a native Spanish speaker, I bring a multicultural and multilingual perspective to my work. I support our translation efforts by overseeing the translation vendors’ relationship and maintaining a process and best practices. Avendra International services many geographic markets and I’m part of a couple of teams that support and engage these customers every day. Besides the language, there are cultural nuances specific to the country to keep in mind as we work to build strong client relationships.
The Avendra Edge: Cost Outlook is a highly valued forecasting publication, and you primarily manage this project. How do you capture data and create this important tool?
We begin with our in-house commodity experts, who tap into their unique category expertise as well as that of our supplier base and industry analysts; then our field representatives add their insights – to provide clients with short and long-term budget forecasting information with actionable mitigation tips.
For the last 13 years, the Cost Outlook has exemplified Avendra International’s commitment to providing our clients with the tools they need to succeed. When external factors impact the supply chain, our extensive network and dedicated support will provide our customers with effective risk management, ensuring their operations run smoothly. We release the publication in various languages, including English, French, and Spanish, to customers around the world. As our clients’ needs have evolved, so has the publication. We continually refine our content, offering both digital and print versions to meet clients where they are. By incorporating their feedback, we create a publication that comprehensively prepares them for upcoming market trends. It’s rewarding to hear how they use the information.
As someone involved in the hospitality industry, do you have any unique travel and hospitality stories of your own?
My ideal travel destination is anywhere with pristine beaches, good food, and fun wildlife. As a hospitality professional, I’ve come to appreciate properties that provide exceptional guest experiences through high-quality cuisine and refreshments, furnishings, and products, as well as caring staff members. Pairing unique local touches with homelike comforts makes traveling feel all the more rewarding from a guest’s perspective. I love that I play a part in helping properties achieve this.
I’ve been fortunate to visit some amazing places including Vieques, Puerto Rico where we found wild horses and roosters roaming the streets. In Tulum/Akumal, Mexico we swam with sea turtles and visited a monkey sanctuary. I spotted an eagle stingray as it swam near the shore while I was visiting Negril, Jamaica. I’m looking forward to a trip to France in the next year!
